Wasserman Kicks off State Rep. Campaign at Historical Society
Needham Selectman meets supporters & speaks of track record
Needham Selectman Jerry Wasserman kicked off his campaign for State Representative on Sunday afternoon, greeting supporters at the Needham Historical Society.
Amid performances by three separate musical groups, Wasserman thanked those who came to the event and looked forward to upcoming days on the campaign trail, according to a press release issued by Wasserman's camp.
"This is a terrific start to the campaign," said Wasserman. "It is especially gratifying to see such a large and diverse group of people come out to show their support, especially on a warm Sunday afternoon."

According to the release, several notables were in attendance for the rally, including current State Representative Lida Harkins, State Senator and candidate for District Attorney Michael Morrissey, former candidate for Lt. Governor Deb Goldberg, Needham Selectman John Bulian and School Committee members Michael Greis, Heidi Black and Bill Paulson.
Wasserman is a longtime resident of Needham, where he lives with his wife, Joan. The couple's son, Michael, is a graduate of Needham High School. In addition to his role as Selectman for the past 11 years and Town Meeting member for the last 27, Wasserman has served as a member of the School Committee the Green Needham Collaborative and the Economic Development Advisory Committee, as well as state groups such as the Suburban Coalition and the Massachusetts Selectmen's Association.

Wasserman related that he prides himself on his knowledge of the local community and pointed to his track record of making things happen in both Needham and all of Massachusetts.
"Everyone knows we are still facing difficult times," Wasserman said on Sunday. "My record of results for Needham and my contributions to policies that have been adopted statewide make me uniquely suited to represent this district."
Wasserman is seeking a seat in the Thirteenth Norfolk District, which will be determined on Nov. 2. The Democratic Primary will be held on Sept. 14.
