Down a run in the final inning of play, the Needham High School team got exactly what they needed at the last possible moment.
Putting together a three-run inning, the Rockets punched their ticket to the MIAA Division 1 South finals, beating Walpole 7-5 at Braintree High School. Needham will now play top-seeded Silver Lake for the title on a date and time to be announced.
Going into the sixth inning, the Rockets had a 4-2 lead, but three runs from Walpole put Needham down by one with an inning to play.

With bases loaded and two outs, Sam Foley reached base with a two-run single to give Needham a 6-5 lead. The team would leave the inning with a two-run lead, retiring Walpole in the bottom of the seventh.
