Reuse & Shred Day 2026!

Join us for a morning of recycling, reuse, and community sharing!

📄 Secure Paper Shredding, Keith Middle School, 225 Hathaway Blvd.

  • Bring up to 2 boxes of confidential documents for secure shredding.
  • Staples and paper clips are OK.
  • Event ends at 11:00 a.m. or when the truck reaches capacity. Please arrive by 10:45 a.m.
  • Sponsored by NBCU.

🧸 Toy & Children's Book Swap, Keith Middle School Community Room

  • Donate, swap, or take home toys and books.
  • No donation required to participate.
  • Accepted items include children's and young adult books, puzzles, games, dolls, action figures, building sets, stuffed animals, sporting equipment, musical instruments, and other clean, gently used toys.

Advance Toy & Book Donations for the Swap (Sept. 9-17)

Available only to New Bedford and Dartmouth residents:

✅ New Bedford residents may drop off items at the Recycling Center, 1103 Shawmut Ave. (proof of residency required).

✅ New Bedford and Dartmouth residents may request a free pickup by calling (508) 979-1493, emailing Marissa@gnbrrmdistrict.org, or texting (774) 503-0254. Free pickups will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis until the collection truck is full.

👕 Clothing & Household Goods Drop-Off with CMRK, New Bedford High School, 230 Hathaway Blvd.

Donate gently used:

  • Clothing, shoes, bedding, and textiles
  • Kitchen and household goods
  • Books, DVDs, artwork, collectibles, and more

💰 Dehumidifier Turn-In, New Bedford High School

  • Receive a $30 Mass Save rebate for an eligible working dehumidifier.

🚲 Bicycle Repair & Donation, New Bedford High School

  • Free basic bicycle repairs by On the Spot Bike (first come, first served)
  • Donate bikes in any condition. Repairable bicycles will be refurbished and distributed to local youth. The District, in participation with ACE Junk Removal, will provide free recycling of any bikes that cannot be repaired.
