Community Rowing Opens Its Second Boathouse in Auburndale

New Boathouse Opens for Boston Residence

Rowing is for everyone. That’s a mantra firmly held by Community Rowing Inc. (CRI), a nonprofit dedicated to the belief that the rowing provides unique opportunities to promote personal and community growth through teamwork, discipline, and physical fitness.

CRI is thrilled to announce the opening of its second boathouse, Stoller Boathouse, on July 11. The new boathouse is located on Charles Street in Auburndale right on the Charles River.

The new boathouse will offer a variety of programs to the public, including those with disabilities, teens, and corporate groups.With low athlete to coach ratios and safety launches for every session, this is a great opportunity for more people in and around the Newton community to experience the benefits of rowing. Programs include:

  • Middle School Summer Skills - For ages 10-13, this is a standard program that gives people a “first try feel” for the sport, often those who have never rowed before
  • Sculling 1 - A program for those who may have rowed but haven’t sculled before. They can learn the basics and develop the skills to row on their own.
  • Sculling 4 - A program for those who have sculled before and are looking to perfect technique and to develop skills
