Contents of Paul Revere Time Capsule to Be Unveiled Jan. 6
The capsule, which dates back to 1795, was discovered Dec. 11 in the Massachusetts State House as crews repaired a water leak.

An incredible piece of Boston history will be unveiled in early January.
On Dec. 11, workers fixing a water leak at the Massachusetts State House discovered a cigar box-sized box planted by Paul Revere and Samuel Adams. Officials said itâs a time capsule, with newspapers, coins, and a silver plateâamong other itemsâinside.

The box was found in a cornerstone of the building. The capsule was then transported to the Museum of Fine Arts, which will unveil its contents to the public Jan. 6.
In October, another time capsule was discovered in a lion statue atop Bostonâs Old State House. This time capsule contained newspapers and campaign buttons, among other items.
