Chess (Beginners & Beyond)

For chess players of all levels, we'll go over the basics of chess, from how the pieces move, opening principles, and simple endgames, to notation for reading (and writing) games. We will learn what factors are important to consider before making a move, including how our emotions can often guide us to find the right plan. After all, chess is not a science, it is a form of art. Whether you want to play for fun, appreciate the play of others, or enter a competition, this course will get you started. If you have a chess set, please bring it.
