Newton Community Education invites you to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Fenway Park:
We welcome author and Newton native Saul Wisnia for an evening all about our own Fenway Park -- the oldest surviving ballpark in Major League Baseball. In this presentation, Saul will share with us his passion and insights about the history of baseball in Boston during the past century. His talk will not simply be a celebration of the good times that Red Sox fans have experienced, but also touch on the many trials and tribulations the facility and team have gone through. There will be stories from the beginnings of Fenway in 1912 right up to the present, and Saul urges you to come with tales -- and artifacts -- of your own to share. Saul will read from his new book, Fenway Park: The Centennial, and screen portions of the bonus DVD documentary narrated by Red Sox legend Carlton Fisk that comes with each copy. The book will be available for sale and signing after his talk.
