You'll release feathers into the wind for swooping swallows, called feather interceptors, to catch (they'll use them to line their nests). With the right fat fluffy feather, the swallows may take it from your hand at a swooping speed of 200+ mph! The look on your child's face when a feather is released and caught in mid-air is priceless. You have never seen anything like this before! With your own feathers you will learn how to start your own colony. You'll observe aerial courtship, mating, and feeding. A short nature walk is included. As you will be walking in the water, wear water-proof boots. Directions to the meeting point in Duxbury will be provided to registered students. All ages welcome.
