The 2nd Annual Wally's Wicked Good 5K is dedicated to the prevention of Melanoma--with all proceeds going to the Melanoma Foundation of New England. Melanoma is a deadly, yet highly preventable form of skin cancer. The mission of the Melanoma Foundation of New England is to save lives by reducing the incidence of melanoma. This year alone, over 10,000 people in this country will die from this disease: that’s one person every 50 minutes. Young adults between the ages of 18 - 29 are the most susceptible population of this disease.
May is Melanoma Awareness month--the ideal time to remind everyone of the importance of protecting against overexposure to the sun during spring and summer activities.
