Don't hibernate this winter! Join us for an outside nature walk as we observe plant and animal life while enjoying the beauty of the winter landscape. We'll learn about the difference between deciduous and evergreen trees and look for seeds from both; investigate animal habitats and hope to see some animals themselves (or at least track where they've been); discuss what the animals are eating and how they survive in winter; and look for evidence of birds, including their nests. Please bring a collecting bag for specimens you come across, and wear warm clothing and boots. Expect a different set of findings for each of our two sessions. If the weather looks questionable, please call the NCE office at 617-559-6999. Grades K-2, alone or with an interested parent.
