Fault in our Stars family to visit Relay For Life

Lori Earl, the mother of the girl who inspired "The Fault in Our Stars" will be speaking at this year's Relay For Life.

The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Watertown, Newton and Waltham will be held on May 30th to the 31st at Victory Field in Watertown.

During the event’s Luminaria Ceremony, which honors and remembers those lost to cancer, at approximately 9 p.m., guest speaker Lori Earl, the mother of a young cancer patient whose battle with the disease inspired the powerful 2014 romantic drama “The Fault in Our Stars”, will address the crowd and share her personal story.

Funds raised at Relay For Life events enable the Society to find cures as the nation’s largest non-profit investor in cancer research and continue the fight for access to quality health care, lifesaving screenings, clean air, and more. The Relay For Life event is open to the public and the volunteer committee welcomes new participants and teams.
