Teens tried to steal phones: An employee at the AT&T Wireless on Boylston Street called to report that a group of about seven teenagers she described as three black men and four black women between the ages of 15 and 18 attempted to steal some cell phones. She said she saw them come in and then walk around in a suspicious manner before gathering around a cell phone display in the front near the entrance. She said the group detached the bottom security alarm from three phones and the alarm sounded. The group then ran out the door on the Boylston Street side toward the movie theatre. It turned out the wires had been detached, but the phones remained in place by the backup security strap.

She said she became scared since she did not know this man and she took off sprinting down the street. When she looked behind her she said she thought she saw the man running after her. She kept running down the street and when she took a second look behind her, she said she noticed the man had stopped and was walking back to his vehicle. The woman ran until she was home and called police. She described the vehicle as a small, gray passenger vehicle. She described the man as Asian in his mid 20s, with black hair, approx 6' tall, medium build, wearing black T-shirt and black shorts.
