Newton Dems Co-Chair Endorses Ruthanne Fuller For Mayor

Newton Democratic Party Co-Chair Shawn Fitzgibbons and City Councilors Vicki Danberg and Ted Hess-Mahan endorsed Fuller, Fuller announced.

NEWTOWN, MA - The following is a press release From Ruthanne Fuller for Mayor: Ruthanne Schwartz Fuller, a City Councilor-At-Large running for Mayor of Newton, has announced the endorsements of two prominent City Councilors and the Co-Chair of the Newton Democratic Party. Ward 6 City Councilor-At-Large Vicki Danberg and Ward 3 City Councilor-At-Large Ted Hess-Mahan, and Newton Democratic Party Co-Chair Shawn Fitzgibbons are the latest Newton leaders to endorse Fuller's candidacy.

Fuller has already been endorsed by current City Councilors Deb Crossley, Susan Albright, Jake Auchincloss, City Council President Emeritus Lisle Baker, the Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus, former State Treasurer Steve Grossman, and many others. In the September Preliminary Election, Fuller was the top vote earner in Newton's Mayoral race.

Newton Democratic Party Co-Chair Shawn Fitzgibbons said, "Ruthanne Fuller has been a dedicated champion of Democratic Party causes during her time on the Council. She's a great listener, a thoughtful leader, and I know she will continue to make us proud as our city's next Mayor."

City Councilor Ted Hess-Mahan said, "Ruthanne Fuller has the passion, commitment, vision, leadership skills, and experience, as well as a depth and breadth of understanding of its finances to keep Newton moving forward on a sustainable path toward excellence."

City Councilor Vicki Danberg said, "I have had the pleasure of serving with Ruthanne since her election in 2009. She jumped into efforts to improve the City's finances, infrastructure, school construction, streets and sidewalks, and affordable housing. Ruthanne also chairs the City's Financial Audit Committee on which I have had the honor to serve, and I have seen firsthand her ability to get right to the meat of the matter. As Mayor, Ruthanne will be committed to making Newton a better place to live and work for everyone. I therefore proudly endorse Ruthanne for Mayor of Newton."
