Newton Mayoral Candidates Lennon And Fuller To Face Off Oct.5
The topic of the debate on Oct. 5? Affordable housing.

NEWTON, MA — A month after the city voted them on the ballot, the two candidates facing off in the Newton Mayoral election November 7 will be facing off Thursday Oct. 5. at the Eliot Church on Centre Street.
Ruthanne Fuller and Scott Lennon are vying to pick up the baton Mayor Setti Warren, who has served two terms in office, hands behind him as he steps away to run for governor.
U-CHAN, the Newton Clergy Association, and Engine 6 are sponsoring a debate on housing and "other quality of life issues," with Greg Reibman, president of the Newton-Needham Regional Chamber moderating, according to a Facebook invitation.

Fuller is a Newton city councilor and strategic planner who has lived in Newton for the past 24 years. She came in first during the preliminary election earlier this month with 36.6 percent of the votes.
Lennon is the Newton city council president, a life long resident of Newton, and former budget director for the Middlesex Sheriff's office. He came in second in the preliminary with 32.8 percent of the votes.
