Newton Needs Volunteers For Pediatric Vaccine Clinics
The first dose clinics are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 13 and Sunday, Nov. 14 at Newton North High School and Oak Hill Middle School.

NEWTON, MA — The Newton Health and Human Services Department needs both clinical and administrative volunteers to work at they city's vaccine clinics for 5 to 11-year olds, set to take place on Saturday, Nov. 13 and Sunday, Nov. 14 at Newton North High School and Oak Hill Middle School.
The first dose clinics were originally scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., but because all 960 appointment slots filled up so quickly, the city is hoping to extend the hours to 5 p.m. on both days.
This time extension is only possible if more people volunteer to help check in children and their caregivers, usher them to the vaccination stations, administer vaccines, and help make second appointments.

The pediatric vaccine is a two-dose series given three weeks apart and at one-third the dose given to adults. Second dose clinics are currently scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 4 and Sunday, Dec. 5 at the same locations.
