Newton's Grande Kitchen, Which Replaced Mick Morgan's, Closed
Grande Kitchen + Bar was only in business for six months.

NEWTON, MA — Six months ago Grand Kitchen + Bar was celebrating a grand opening. The last week of November early December, they shuttered their doors abruptly, closing out their Facebook Page and shutting down their website. A phone call went unanswered.
The Yelp Page says the restaurant is permanently closed.
The owners of Mick Morgan's Irish pub renovated the space and opened the new space with an eye for a modern American fare and bar. They changed the vibe, complete with a new chef and menu.

Adam Kube, formerly of Bastille Kitchen, took over as executive chef. Kube first entertained the idea of becoming a chef during extended visits with his aunt and grandmother who kept him and his siblings busy by letting them help cook. He attributes this early introduction to growing up to become a chef, he says.
Kube was recognized by Zagat in their 2013 annual, '30 Under 30' list as one of Greater Boston's 'Hottest Up and Comers.

Starters included items like grilled oysters for $9, porcini arancini with red pepper sofrito and mozzarella for $9 and spring rolls, and there are salads such as the $14 Toasted Quinoa with hearts of palm, apricots, pistachios, kale chips and chimichurri.
But at least some folks took to social media wondering why so pricey and lamented the change: Entrees include anything from the Atlantic salmon ($26) to cheeseburgers ($15) prosciutto-wrapped cod ($28).
Recent reviews on Yelp were mixed. The restaurant had an average of three out of five stars and the last two were three or less.
