No Spoon For You: Accused Newton Soup Tosser To Appear In Court

Soup's on for a woman accused of tossing soup in the face of the owner of the New England Soup Factory. She's headed to court say police.

NEWTON, MA — The woman accused of tossing soup in the face of the owner of the New England Soup Factory has been identified and will be headed to court. Earlier this week the owner of the Newton based restaurant reported a woman walked in, got angry over a spoon policy, and then tossed soup in her face.

Police say it's now a criminal investigation and a 64-year-old Newton woman will be charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Marjorie Druker, 54, of Newton reported it to police this week and then handed surveillance footage over to them. Police said they reviewed the images and it appeared to back up what Druker told them, including the part where she got angry, too.

"The images clearly show [a woman] intentionally throw/splash the soup into [ Druker's] face as [redacted by police] was yelling at her. The images also show [redacted by police] throw the empty sample cup at [redacted by police]," according to police.

Officers told both women involved that they shouldn't contact each other.
