Opening: Inna's Kitchen To Return To Newton Centre
Inna's closed last year but the plan is to reopen in Newton Centre this summer.

NEWTON, MA — After a year hiatus, it's baaack. Inna's Kitchen, the Kosher Jewish Deli which closed last April has plans to return to Newton Centre this summer.
According to an update from the mother-son owners, Inna's Kitchen is going to be opening back up in Newton Centre, moving into a space on Commonwealth Ave.
The new space will be takeout only. And they're not considering themselves a deli - per se - any more.

"The word 'culinaria' is used in Europe to describe prepared foods and since we will not have seats, sandwiches, or cold-cuts, it seems a better description for us than 'deli'. We will have a rotating selection of family style dinner items, frozen entrees like pot pies, soups, and some of our favorite items (like latkes and stuffed cabbage), a catering menu, and educational hands-on cooking programs. We will continue our allergen-friendly practices and the kitchen will be dedicated gluten-free," reads the note they sent out.
If all goes as planned, they said, they could be open this summer.

Inna and son Alex who head the business immigrated to the US from the Soviet Union. In 1990 they found a home in Boston. When Inna first came to the US she started working at a deli and then co-founded a deli in Brookline. She went on to work as head chef and kitchen manager for the JCHE in Newton and as personal chef for families in Newton, according to her bio. Her son got the bug from her. He grew up working around his mom, but also did a stint at Rosenfeld's Bagel, cleaning and braiding challah, and then worked as a cook and baker at the non-profit Haley House Bakery Cafe in Roxbury.
They opened in 2011 on Pelham Street.
The idea of Inna's Kitchen was to cook Jewish cuisine from around the world, from matzo ball soup to knish, to falafel in an Israeli pocket or pot pies and stuffed cabbage all from scratch.
They were a pretty popular spot in Newton Centre, but after being in business for some six years they shut down their main location, and stuck to a stall at the Boston Public Market.
The address for the new iteration of Inna's Kitchen is 547 Commonwealth Avenue, Newton Centre, in a space formerly occupied by a kosher butcher.
