Playful Pepper is Looking for a Home of His Own

Each week the Gifford Cat Shelter features one of their resident cats ready for adoption.

Pepper is a very handsome neutered 8 year-old male who is also very playful! He loves to play peek-a-boo behind a half open door, and, Pepper’s foster mom says, “He really likes to play ‘chase’! He institutes the game by suddenly staring at me in a certain way. I chase him and he runs and hides. I pretend to have a hard time finding him!” Pepper also LOVES his blue track toy---he sleeps with one or two paws on it for security. How cute is that? Wand/feather toys are also favorites. And to top off how great a companion he is, Pepper loves to sit on laps! He is definitely a people person—but he really doesn’t care for other cats, so he will have to be the only pet in his home. Because of this, he is currently in a foster home rather than at the Shelter. But he would love to play in a forever home of his own!

If you are interested in meeting Pepper or any of the cats at The Ellen M. Gifford Cat Shelter, visit our website (www.giffordcatshelter.org). While you’re there, you can fill out an online adoption application for Pepper and learn more about our shelter. You can also call us at 617-787-8872.

The mission of Gifford Cat Shelter is to provide a safe haven for abandoned, stray, abused, neglected, unwanted and injured cats with the goal of re-homing and ending the needless killing of community and companion cats. It was the first cageless, no-kill shelter in the country and has been in existence since 1884.
