Police Respond to Fight, Underage Booze Buying, Make Arrests Over Weekend

The following was supplied by the Newton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

On March 28, Newton Police were working the alcohol enforcement grant initiative. At Wegmans liquor store on Boylston Street, an officer spotted two white males go in to the store and they appeared to be younger than 21. They bought alcohol and used an ID card, which was checked by the manager. When the men left the store, the officer stopped them and they both produced fake licenses they had used to buy the alcohol. Both were informed that complaints were being taken out against them for purchasing liquor under 21, and producing false identification. One male was 18, from Massapequa, NY, and the other, also 18, from Bathesda, MD.

On March 28, officers worked on underage liquor enforcement. A female, 18, from Wellesley, used a fake idea to purchase alcohol. Officers informed her that complaints would be sought for possession of a false ID and person under 21 possessing alcohol.
