Professional Wrestling returns to Newton - UWU presents "Full Moon Massacre" - Halloween has come early!

Wrestling has come back to The Garden City!! Friday evening, October 16th, Ultimate Wrestling Underground flies its banner for Newton, Massachusetts’ premiere non-profit benefit wrestling show at the American Legion 440 at 295 California St. Come watch professional wrestlers put on a fun and exciting show for all ages, all while raising money for charity! In the past, these performers have raised money for organizations such as Boston One Fund, Animal Adventures, the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress, the Christopher Platt Memorial Fund and most recently, Newton at Home.

Theresa Kerr, the organizer of this annual event, was born in Newton and formerly wrestled under the name ‘Delilah Hayden’. A known talent in the New England Wrestling scene, she continues to use her platform to entertain and give back to the community. “When I’m done wrestling,” she says, “if I’ve made nothing and given thousands of dollars away, that’s a successful career to me.”

This year, all proceeds from the show will benefit the Guinea Pig Sanctuary of Salisbury, Massachusetts. Their Mission: “Guinea pigs are being found in dumpsters, backyards, trash cans, and the side of the road. Many who get them do not understand what it takes to keep them healthy and happy. Our mission is to save the guinea pigs we can and find new loving homes to give these piggies a second chance.”

The Guinea Pig Sanctuary welcomes families, children, and service animals into their facility, which is more like a home mixed with “sprinkles of frat house, romper room, and quirkiness.” They work with many other local nonprofits that benefit children, families, and animals, serving to strengthen community and give back to it, establishing themselves as a community resource, and a fully inclusive safe-space welcome to all. “Our goal is to unite everyone in the village with the resources and support services needed to be the strongest, happiest, most loving group united by our love for each other and our fur babies.” (Source: https://www.guineapigsanctuary.org/)

Doors for Friday, 10/16 will open at 6:30pm with a Bell Time of 7pm. Guaranteed Front Row Seats are $20 each, General Admission are $15. Children under 3 are free. This is a family-friendly, all-ages event with snack stand and cash bar, ATM on-site. Proceeds from the snack stand will be donated to the Guinea Pig Sanctuary, all proceeds from the cash bar to the American Legion. In the past, none of these shows have been possible without the love and support of the community. This year, the local business sponsorship program will be initiated - offering sponsorship opportunities for local businesses to get involved and advertisement at the same.
