Newton, MA – RightSize Newton, a grass-roots organization of activist neighbors formed in response to excessively large development across the city of Newton, announced today it was endorsing the “Slate of 8” candidates for Newtonville Area Council. Area Councils are locally elected bodies that serve as a forum for addressing local issues and fostering community spirit.

Led by Peter Bruce, current President of the Newtonville Area Council and Martina Jackson, former Chair of the Newton Democratic City Committee, eight candidates are running as a slate to serve on the Newtonville Area Council. Other candidates are Dana D’Agostino, Kirill Alshewski, Carolyn Gabbay, Susan Reisler, Pam Shufro, and Kartikey Trivedi. The voting district for the Newtonville Area Council is most of ward 2 and part of ward 1.
