Scott Lennon Lands Another Endorsement
The Newton Municipal Employees Association announced they support Scott Lennon for mayor.
From The Office of Scott Lennon: Members of the Newton Municipal Employees Association voted last week to endorse Scott Lennon for mayor.
These municipal employees join Newton firefighters, teachers, carpenters and two police unions who have all endorsed Lennon as the candidate they want to take the helm of city government next year.
“Every vote matters to me,” said City Council President Scott Lennon. “But to be told by my colleagues in city government that they want me leading the way, that’s special. Newtonians want a city government that is welcoming and works hard for them – as you can see by these endorsements, that’s exactly what you’ll get with my administration.”

The Newton Municipal Employees Association represents nearly 200 city workers from the Public Works, Public Building, and the Parks and Recreation Departments. Their support – combined with the Newton Fire Fighters Association, Newton Police Association, Newton Superior Officers Association, and Newton Teachers Association – speaks for a clear majority of municipal employees of the City of Newton, said Lennon's campaign.
With just one month until the preliminary election on September 12, every union that has endorsed in the Newton mayoral contest thus far has chosen to endorse Lennon’s candidacy, according to his campaign.
