Visiting Angels Makes Donation to Schechter Holocaust Services for Holocaust Remembrance Day

Newton, MA - In honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day, Visiting Angels, America’s choice in home care, recently made a $5,000 donation to Schechter Holocaust Services (SHS), an organization dedicated to helping aging Holocaust survivors live with dignity while remaining connected to their communities.

Home care is essential for many survivors, helping them maintain independence and quality of life as they age at home. Many require additional assistance with daily activities, and compassionate, reliable care allows them to continue aging comfortably in their own homes while maintaining vital social connections.

Schechter Holocaust Services supports more than 450 survivors annually, providing over 3,100 hours of home care each week through partner home care agencies. As the only program in Greater Boston solely dedicated to the health and well-being of Holocaust survivors, SHS fills a critical and growing need in the community.

Beyond home care, SHS provides a comprehensive safety net of services, including case management, transportation assistance, social connection opportunities, access to local food pantries, and other essential supports designed to address both physical and emotional needs.

Representatives from Visiting Angels met with Schechter Holocaust Services in Newton for a check presentation, marking a meaningful moment of support for the organization. The donation will help SHS continue its vital work at a time when the needs of Holocaust survivors are increasing.
