Vote On Trump Impeachment Investigation In Newton? Postponed.

The Newton City Council was slated to vote on a resolution to call on the House to investigate impeaching the US president. They postponed.

NEWTON, MA — The City Councilors hearing room was packed Monday night for the regularly scheduled meeting. Many waited in the heat to see how the councilors would vote on a resolution before the full council that would call upon the House to investigate the possibility of impeaching the US President. Many Those people will have to wait until next month to find out the answer.

The council postponed the vote to July 10. A couple councilors asked about the legality and procedure of such a postponement, as the law requires that the government address a petition such as this within a certain amount of time.

Council President Scott F. Lennon said the way he interpreted the issue, the council did deal with it by chartering it, he said.
