Women’s Equality Champion Barbara Lee Endorses Fuller For Mayor
Lee is the founder of the Barbara Lee Political Office and has helped elect 193 women in 33 states.

NEWTON, MA — National Champion for Women's Equality Barbara Lee has officially endorsed Mayor Ruthanne Fuller in her run for reelection, said Fuller's office in a news release.
Lee, founder of the Barbara Lee Political Office and the Barbara Lee Family Foundation, has helped elect 193 women in 33 states, including the first woman Vice President of the United States and every sitting Democratic woman Governor and U.S. Senator.
“I’m proud to endorse Ruthanne Fuller, who made history as the first woman ever elected Mayor of Newton," said Lee in a statement. "Ruthanne’s accomplishments as Mayor demonstrate her strong commitment to the city and its residents. I look forward to a second term of her visionary leadership!”

Lee's endorsement comes after Mayor Fuller’s recent endorsement from EMILY’s List, a national organization dedicated to promoting women candidates for office, and adds to a list of community leaders who have already voiced their support for Fuller's campaign.
