Five Ways to Support Arts and Culture in North Andover

Check out these great cultural opportunities.

There are many great ways to add a bit of culture to your lives right here in North Andover. Here are five places or events to explore in the coming weeks to keep the arts alive in our community.

1) The Rogers Center for the Arts at Merrimack College

This month The Colonial Chorus Players present “Jekyll and Hyde.” A tale of Dr. Henry Jekyll's lapse into a dual personality which bring to the surface his evil inner self, Edward Hyde.

“Jekyll and Hyde” is showing on March 19, 25 and 26 at 8 p.m. and March 20 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18; Students and Seniors, $15.

2) Crossroads Coffeehouse

The live entertainment at Crossroads Coffeehouse makes for a great night out. Coming up on April 9 The Claire Lynch Trio will be performing at 8 p.m. Admission costs $20.

This bluegrass group has had many achievements in their time together including earning the title of vocalist of the year; championships in the areas of mandolin, fiddle and guitar and most notably two Grammy nominations for Best Bluegrass Album.

3) North Andover Garden Club

The North Andover Garden Club presents Art in Bloom on Sunday, April 10, 2 to 5 p.m. Enjoy this opportunity to interpret art with floral arrangements. This spring inspired event will be held at Stevens Memorial Library.

4) Parson Barnard House, 1715

Plan a visit to one of North Andover’s most interesting historical buildings.  Open Sundays from 1 to 3 p.m., seasonally and by appointment, was home to Thomas Barnard,the third minister of Andover. Within the home you can explore furnished rooms, gardens, exhibits and a sense of community life from the period of 1715 to 1830. Farming equipment, vehicles and a schoolroom are also open to view.

5) The Museum of Printing

Visit the on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment.

Guided tours of this unique establishment will reveal the Museum's comittment to the history of the graphic arts, printing equipment and printing craftsmanship.

Winter Hours remain in effect until April 15. Admission is $5 ($3 seniors and students; children 6 and under free).
