Incumbents Roll To Victory In North Andover Election

In the most heated race, Mark DiSalvo defeated challenger Gerald Brecher for town moderator.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA -- North Andover voters chose incumbents over challengers in the two contested races in this year's town election. Mark DiSalvo defeated challenger Gerald Brecher, who had attacked DiSalvo for being too partisan to serve as the overseer of Annual and Special Town Meetings.

Planning Board member Lynne Rudnicki's bid to unseat one of the two selectmen running for reelection came up short. Phil DeCologero and Richard M. Vaillancourt were both reelected to the board of selectmen for another three-year term.

"The election results were not what I wanted but I'm proud of our efforts. I can not thank everyone enough for your help and support," Rudnicki said in a Facebook post. "I have no regrets, I met a lot of wonderful people who opened their doors and welcomed me in or took the time out of their day to speak with me on the phone."
