Lighting Replacement Green Communities Project Completed
The town replaced the lighting fixtures using a state grant.
NORTH ANDOVER, MA — North Andover recently replaced inefficient lighting fixtures at the Water Treatment Plant and certain sections of the Middle School, as part of its Green Communities program. According to the town announcement, the project cost the town nothing, due to a state grant and rebates from National Grid. The efficient lighting is projected to save the Town over $30,000 annually.
There are other older, inefficient lighting fixtures in town and school buildings, which they plan to replace over the coming years. The town has now received $436,797 in grants from the Department of Energy Resources for Green Communities and other grants, since being named a Green Community in 2017. Other projects replaced streetlights and purchased two electric vehicles and a charging station.
