She said that although she has done all genres of dance, tap has always interested her most because it is musical. "I am not only a dancer, but I am a musician, and my feet are my instruments."

Carberry is also the daughter of Nancy Chippendale. Acknowledging that her comments may be biased, she said, "Kelli is one of the most positive and hard working dancers I have taught in the 33 years.  She sets her goals and works hard to accomplish these goals. Currently living in Bradford, Carberry said that tap has given her the opportunity to see the world. "I have traveled to Europe three times in the last six months alone tapping my way through customs in various countries."
