North Andover Restores Phone, Web Service After 2 Day Outage

The town and school technological systems went down Sunday night due to an equipment failure.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — North Andover's municipal web and phone service were restored, Tuesday evening, after a two day outage, the town announced.

The town and school technology systems went down Sunday evening due to an equipment failure: the system's "core switch," a key piece of the network, went down.

The town's IT staff and consultant replaced the switch over the next two days. The town had been planning to replace it this fall, so all the necessary equipment was already on hand.
