• North Andover Bans Non-Essential Outdoor Water Use (patch.com) — North Andover residents are now barred from most outdoor water uses after low levels at Lake Cochichewick triggered a townwide restriction. Lawn irrigation systems, car washing, and pool filling are all prohibited until the reservoir returns to normal, so homeowners and businesses should plan for an indefinite period of tighter water conservation.
   

• Merrimack College Opens Two New Dormitories Using Novel Financing (whav.net subscription) — Merrimack College has added two new dorms on its North Andover campus, creating 540 additional beds for students and easing local housing pressure. The $98 million project uses an unusual lease-financing structure, with ownership transferring to the college after a multi-decade term, and was designed by North Andover-based firm Cube-3.
