Public Works To Hold Informational Meeting On Restoration Work
The department will update residents Thursday on road restoration work.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Confused why roadwork has taken so long? The public works department is holding an information meeting Thursday evening, to give an update on restoration work. The meeting is scheduled for Jan. 16, 2020, 7 p.m. at the Senior Center on Main Street.
Road restoration was delayed by Columbia Gas compliance issues. After a September gas leak in Lawrence, the company was required to check abandoned gas lines across Lawrence, Andover and North Andover. Those checks were completed in November.
"We have been working on the overall plan and will be seeking public input on the restoration at this meeting," the town said in a release about the meeting. "It should be noted that we will have additional public/site meetings as the restoration projects move forward. The first construction contract has been bid and the contract has been awarded. The first contract of work will be starting as soon as weather permits in the Spring 2020."
