Smolak Farms Opens Today

It's that time of year again.

It's spring again. And among many other things in North Andover, it means is opening for business.

The popular 160-acre farm, which traces its history back about 300 years, is opening its doors (and gates) to the public today for its 37th season of business.

New Stuff

While it's the same Smolak Farms, there are a few new things there.

  • In addition to the pick-your-own seasons for strawberries, raspberries, cherries and more, they will also have lots of vegetables picked daily and available at the Farm Stand.
  • Smolak Farms is offering two Community Supported  Agriculture options:  18-Week Vegetable/Fruit CSA and a PYO Fruit CSA. Both full and half shares are now available. (Visit www.SmolakFarms.com to download the application or fill out an application form at the Farm Stand).
  • In addition to Treadwell's Ice Cream on one end of the Farm Stand, now Andover Flower Farm is anchoring the other end.

This Week

Families are invited to the farm’s opening on Thursday, May 3, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with free hayrides available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Stop by our Farm Stand & Bakery to experience the new look and expanded offering of unique gifts and delicacies.

  • Free hayrides from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Free sample treats from our Bakery.
  • Smolak’s world famous cider donuts will be available for tasting and purchase.
  • Free preview of Nature and Craft Summer Program.
  • Free quart of perennial phlox with any purchase of $10 or more at Andover Flower Farm.
  • Free raspberry or lime rickey with any purchase at Treadwell's Ice Cream. (Limit of one rickey per purchase).
  • Ongoing birthday parties.
  • The Playground and Petting Zoo is open to enjoy.
