The "Arts" not only entertain us...they feed our souls...

Thought and Poem

Thought and Poem – April 20, 2015

There is nothing more entertaining than to engage ourselves in the “arts.” For years people have found comfort and satisfaction in seeing these through the eyes and hearts of those who share their gifts with us.

Whether we enjoy going to art galleries and try to imagine ourselves in the shoes of the one painting a picture or capturing one with a camera as we walk the halls, there is a sort of peace that comes over us as we bask in the beauty of colors and imaginations.

If music is what we desire, there is plenty around that will send the right notes to our ears that will allow our hearts to feel the moment as the musician plays his piece.

And writing or reading the writings of another can only inspire more thoughts that allow us to travel where we have never been before, and experience life in ways we may not be so brave to explore on our own.

With the warmer weather before us why not check out events going on in your local community and support those who have something they want to share that might “take you away” as you experience their “arts” as they present them to you.

What about you? What is more apt to reach your heart and inspire you? A painting, a picture, music…or writing…Share your thoughts with us…Jeanne Claire Probst

The Eyes

The eyes it takes to see the perfect picture,
Leads many to see beyond just an adventure.
These eyes can see the heart and soul of the prizes they find,
When they first capture the moment with their eyes.

Next they seek to freeze what they see,
So that later they can share their photos with you and me.
They do this in a way that will help us to see,
All the different angles, the colors, the true beauty.

Should we connect with feeling what a photographer’s eyes could see,
We can then imagine the depths of a picture more clearly.
We will then be able to capture the moment as it was seen,
Through the eyes of the taker and what he saw that was so captivating.

Music?

What kinds of music do you listen to that brings you back around,

That will help to keep your lips dancing with smiles…taking away any to-be frowns?

And even if you cannot dance, you can still dance with your heart,

This way, all can find the joys music can bring and all to have a part.

Music can be that motivating “rock’n roll” and have you burning calories as you dance around the room,

Or it can be music that draws you close to your dance partner, like those “waltz” tunes.

Some may perhaps enjoy music of bands that play only “rhythm and blues,”

That might have you hip hopping, jumping up and down, or still it might be “blues” music that soothes.

Whatever you choice, music should is part of our lives,

Music can take our “low” days and make them “high.”

So crank up the sound and let the music begin,

Sing any of the words you know and let the music flow into your heart again!

You Have To Please Yourself!

A writer writes for many different reasons,

And will write about, life, challenges, and seasons.

There is no way of telling, who is going to appreciate their skills,

Or their talent, the time it took to write or their determination and will.

So as I writer, I am concerned,

About how others view my work, so the pages of my book they will turn.

But my main reason for penning anything I write,

Is because writing gives me pleasure, and it is a great part of my life.

There will always be someone who will critique your work,

But there is no need to shed tears or allow your heart to hurt.

Because it is what you feel inside what counts in the end,

So don’t let the negativity from another’s mouth, send you off the deep end.

Keep putting your feelings in the words you write,

Let others feel your feelings and make your work part of their life.

But overall, you can’t please everyone who will pick up your work and read,

So write with the goal, that it is you that you aim to please.
