Thought and Poem
How many times have you gotten out of bed in the morning thinking that “today is going to be a great day?” You have a schedule and all is going smoothly and then…unexpectedly…BAM! You get hit with something and it throws you for a loop.
Well for all who many not know me, I can do flip-out, getting all nuts-so and crazy pretty good. I have aged but…unfortunately…not so gracefully. I have had a routine that I follow and somehow even after being on God’s green earth for over sixty years, I have never made a “what will I do plan” when the unexpected surprises come up now and then and this seems to send me into a panic.

But, I am learning and have been able to quickly identify the symptoms that lead up to these kinds of days. I know, that if I get up and don’t have to wash my hair to sort of make me look normal, if there is still milk for my hot chocolate in the fridge, if I make it down the stairs without falling, if I don’t trip over my feet at any point during all this…well…I must be prepared as something else is bound to happen as an unexpected whatever will come up. I know this to be a fact because this happens to me a lot! Such is life…right?
What about you? When the unexpected happens to you, do you flip-out, go all nuts-so and crazy or do you do something else? Share your thoughts with us…Jeanne Claire Probst

Expecting the Unexpected…
You have to expect the unexpected…
From the moment you get out of bed..
Do you know why?
It is so that you don’t have a heart attack when you get that sudden surprise!
For instance, when you go outside
You must realize…
A bug just might land on you somewhere…
So that you don’t start doing the jumping/screaming thing when it does, of this you must be aware!
Or what if something comes in the mail that causes you to want to scream;
An unexpected bill or perhaps you won the trip of your dream.
And you can always expect that after you wash your kitchen floor
Someone is going to spill something or track dirt into the house as they come in from outdoors.
Such is life…these unexpected happenings,
But we must admit without them…our life would seem a little boring.
They save us money and trips to our doctors,
Because if we pass the stress tests at our homes it is one test the doctors won’t have to do…they needn’t have to bother.
So we need to learn how to breathe…
That will help us to find immediate relief…
And we will know what we will have to do when we go into a flip-out cardiac arrest every now and then
As the unexpected events of our daily lives even if they shock us…well…they are going to happen.
Have a backup plan
Keep it close by…as you just might use it again and again.
And by putting to practice the skills we learn it helps us to move forward in a dignified way
After we flip-out, go all nuts-so and crazy we can get back to looking somewhat normal as we go about the rest of our day!
