Thought and Poem – May 19, 2015
I don’t like bugs. I don’t care how big they are, how small they might be or if they are colorful and look pretty. I don’t like bugs!
There have been a few instances in my driving career where a bug dared to come around me while I was driving. This was not a good thing because seeing the bug made me do the screaming-beserky thing, causing me to slam on the brakes while jerking the car to the right or left without a warning to other drivers around me. Not smart!
I normally don’t want to kill the bug and I will either flail my arms to shoo it away or I will relocate them by opening my windows and sending them out to explore life on the outside of my car. However, I have used a music CD, random mail, fast food bags or cups or my hand to encourage these wandering bugs to go elsewhere.
What about you? When a bug decided to hitchhike in your car while you are driving, what have you done to keep yourself on the road and alive. Share your thoughts with us...Jeanne Claire Probst
Hitch-Hiking Bugs…
I was driving my car the other day…
Out from nowhere a bug flew through the window and decided he wanted to stay.
He came in from the passenger’s side…
Thinking he might want to tag along for the ride.
Well he didn’t like the passenger’s seat…
And maybe because he was trying to avoid the heat,
It climbed up onto the windshield where it could feel the cooler air…
Then he decided he didn’t like it there.
So he wandered on over to my side of the car…
And my eyes caught sight of him as if they were radar…
Then he came close to me on my window on the driver’s side…
So I jammed on the brakes, opened my door and swatted him out...this was the end of his ride!
