If only we would....

Thought and Poem

Thought and Poem March 18, 2015

Often we have dreams and goals that we wish to chase after. Sometimes our dreams and goals will include others but there are times we are just thinking about how we will feel when we achieve what we are shooting for.

Then there are wishes that we all have and even if we wish the same things, why we wish for them may differ from one person to another. One might wish they could have a better paying job so that they can provide for all their needs while another might wish they had a better job so they could by boats and travel? Nothing wrong with either of these just that circumstance dictates how we can use the money we make.

When we look back in history and examine what is going on in the world today, we can see that many have chased after goals and dreams, or wished for things at the expense of others. Instruments of war have long been used to impart power that allows one to get what they want at whatever cost. And just when we think those who promote war got what they were after…a new war is started. Whether the wars are fought with words or weapons, the underlying aftermath never benefits all the people involved.

What if…just…what if…we put our efforts instead on personal wishes, dreams or goals and tried to do all we could to make changes that will benefit all. Oh, if only we would learn war no more.

If only we would….

If only we would learn war no more,
And allow our minds and bodies to be restored
To the life we were meant to live
And move one...once we forgive.

The times spent killing one another
Across all boarders
Was time wasted when you finally begin to realize
In the end even if it is your “enemy” you killed...in the end you too will die.

War destroys the soul
It leaves a void
It’s aftermath is worse than the war,
Why can’t we learn war no more?
