Former Worcester Teacher Charged With Human Trafficking, Rape
He taught in the Worcester Public Schools and as an adjunct professor at Quinsigamond Community College.
NORTHBOROUGH, MA — A Northborough man turned himself in to State Police on Tuesday morning following a nearly two-year human trafficking investigation. John B. Clayton, 63, was charged with seven counts of trafficking a person for sexual servitude, two counts of rape, and two counts of intimidation of a witness.
Clayton taught at the high school and college-level in the past, according to the Worcester District Attorney's Office. He was an adjunct professor at Quinsigamond Community College and a former Worcester Public School teacher, according to CBS News.
Through a multi-department investigation, authorities found several women who were targeted, manipulated, and exploited by Clayton, State police said. In general, the victims were drug-addicted, engaged in prostitution, isolated from support, and had very little financial means, police said.

The investigation started in May 2018. Clayton was secretly indicted last week, the DA's office said. He was out of state when the warrant issued for him was sent out — he surrendered at State Police-Milbury barracks when he returned to the Massachusetts the DA said.
During his arraignment on Tuesday, the judge set $15,000 bail and ordered Mr. Clayton to forfeit his passport pilot’s license. The judge also ordered Mr. Clayton not to leave his house except for medical and legal appointments, and to wear a GPS monitor. The case was continued to Feb. 27 for a pre-trial conference.
