Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

The Trombetta family has long been known for Trombetta's Farm, located in Marlborough. But this year, the Trombettas opened Trombetta's Flower Shop at 277 Main St. Still serving and selling out of a parking lot and trailer while the building is finished, they plan a spring grand opening. But make no mistake, Trombetta's is open! The shop is selling Christmas trees, seasonal items, decorations and ice cream. On Small Business Saturday, Trombetta's gives away a free pint of homemade ice cream with every tree purchase. And shop during the weekend of Small Business Saturday, and get a free pass for indoor mini-golf (at its Marlborough location) with any purchase of $15 or more.  "Thanks for shopping local," said owner Laura Barsamian.
