What if?

Thought and Poem

Thought and Poem - May 26, 2015

Who likes getting older once they passed their golden youthful years when we just had one goal in mind...to get to where we have to be and crank up the music that will take us away from reality and allow us to not have to think of anything but the turning radio stations or CD”s.

The problem with hearing the same music today that we heard fifty or so years ago is... We still enjoy the music...but... We got older.
Wherever music is played for the listening audience such as at the supermarkets or at a doctor’s office, they seem to chose music we enjoyed way back then. It makes us forget years have gone by and we might get a little more motivated but why couldn’t we stay as young as music makes us feel? I want to know the answer to this question...before...I age anymore!

What about you? Are you with me on this? Share your thoughts with us...Jeanne Claire Probst

What if?

What if time stood still...
Such would be my will...
To never age beyond a certain point in life...
And stay in the years that we enjoyed living and without strife.
For me this would mean the sixties, seventies and eighties...
Living around music by the Beatles, the Beach Boys and the Monkees...

When I was free in spirit and didn’t care...
About anything except the music that went into my ears.
Surfing music that left me wanting to head to the beach...
Partying music that had me dancing to the beat...
Music that left me wanting to hop on a train...
Or any music played that helped me get through my days.

If only time could have stayed still...
Well... It didn’t and now I am over the hill...
Don’t reckon I know why I aged so...
Because they still play the music I grew up around no matter where I go...
And it makes me forget that the years have gone by...
But then I come back to reality and I realize...
That even though the music stood still in time...
I however aged....why?
