Thought and Poem – April 22, 2015
Today is EARTH DAY. I have not always treated the earth and all that lives on it with the respect it deserves. All people around the world deserve the same as everyone else. Good food, good clean air and water, good health, good-home-lives, peace and security and good days where memories can be made.
Now some of these things I can personally or should have personally shared in helping others to experience. My words and actions and how I put their interest before mine should have reflected on my heartfelt desires for all of mankind. Everyone can have a bad day…years? Anyhow, today, I do try to share my love and what is in my heart with those around me. I am not prejudice in anyway and try to treat all people the same. All these things help make living pleasant for me and those around me.

But, I can’t do it all…all that we need to continue living. Our Earth provides much of what we humans cannot. She provides the air we breathe, the water we drink, the beautiful oceans, parks, and mountains, and the beautiful colors we see in the flowers and everything else around us, including the sunrises and the sunsets.
In all my years of living on the earth, I have seen the quality of life brought down some by pollution, wars, tampering with the environment, neglect and abuse. I am happy for reminders that comeback to my mind on days such as this…Earth Day. It helps me to be more focused on what I need to work on so that future generations will have some of what made my life livable. I also wish the same the animals.

What about you? What does EARTH DAY mean to you? Does it remind you of what you have reaped from living on the earth…and the responsibility you have in helping to maintain the same for others? What is on your “Wish List?” Share your thoughts with us…Jeanne Claire Probst
Wish List
I have a “wish list,” but it is not too long,
And I jot down all the “things” I want before my thoughts are gone.
I am not fussy about what I will get,
As long as what I get is the BEST!
I want good health for all those throughout the world,
Whether they are grown up men and women or little boys and girls,
I want all to live their life to the full,
So that none have to do the “I am sick, need medication pain and suffering drill.”
I want peace for all; no more wars,
No more fear of man, no more evils to endure.
I would want all to have clean air to breathe,
I would want an earth full of healthy oxygen producing trees.
I want clean water for all people around the earth;
To refresh our planet and refresh us when we thirst.
And of course I want good people, those who want to be loving and kind,
And for them to live in the homes they build from their own ideas and designs.
And if all on my wish list was granted I would be so complete,
Only joy and happiness would abound on the people we meet.
Then we would have an earth of people living according to how living should have been,
When man was placed in his garden home one day, where it all began way back then.
