Piers Park Sailing Center Welcomes Aboard New Board Members

 

Boston, MA - Piers Park Sailing Center is pleased to announce the appointment of four new Board Members to its Board of Directors: J.P. Dunn, Mike Hansen, Maureen McKinnon and Andrew Thomas.

 

“Piers Park Sailing Center is honored to welcome J.P., Mike, Maureen and Andrew as the newest members of our team. Each provides diverse perspectives and fresh ideas to drive the Sailing Center’s impact for our stakeholders. I look forward to working with them toward PPSC’s mission of outreach, empowerment and adventure in 2014,” says Robert H. Martin, Jr., Executive Director of the Piers Park Sailing Center. New Board Members include:

 

J.P. Dunn of Rockport is a seasoned veteran of the software industry for both Oracle and SAP.  His philanthropic experience includes being stationed in Ghana while serving in the Peace Corps as well as a tenure on the Children’s Montessori School of Ipswich.

 

Mike Hansen of Canton has an MBA from Babson College and has held leadership positions at SAP, Oracle, MSC Software and most recently Anaplan, a cloud based startup.

 

Maureen McKinnon of Marblehead is an avid racer and Paralympic Gold Medalist from the 2008 Beijing Games. She serves on the Board of Directors at US Sailing and the Boston Chapter of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association.

 

Andrew Thomas of Newton is a highly successful business development manager with success at several organizations over his career including Nortel Networks and BT Conferencing. Andrew holds a degree from Antioch College and studied Ocean Engineering at M.I.T.

 

About Piers Park Sailing Center: Located on the waterfront in East Boston, Massachusetts, the Piers Park Sailing Center (PPSC) is a 501(c)(3) community sailing center dedicated to providing affordable recreational, educational and personal growth opportunities for people of all ages and abilities in Boston Harbor.  Our outreach program affects the lives of hundreds of at-risk youth, provides empowerment through our fully accessible sailing facilities for people living with disabilities and acts as a center for waterfront activities for the entire community.
