A football team, an administrator and some of the greatest athletes in North Reading history make up the Hall of Fame Class of 2017 released Monday. The 1979 football team won the Cape Ann League title and will be honored for their achievement, along with Chuck Carucci (1960), Keri Forest Verdonck (1993), Ann Brophy Flaherty (1996), Adam Kacamburas (2000), Elizabeth Short (2008), Lauren Herbert (2012), Rita Mullin (community service, 1967), and former coach and athletic director Roy Condon.The Hall of Fame banquet will be held Oct. 21 at the Hillview Country Club. The Temple Emanuel Sisterhood invites the community to Mah Jongg Madness, an afternoon of friendly competition, connection, and fun for Mah Jongg players of all experience levels. 
Open to the public, this community event will feature Mah Jongg play, prizes, table rotations, and opportunities to socialize with friends—both old and new. To encourage engagement and friendly competition, players of varying skill levels will be mixed and tables will rotate throughout the afternoon. Instructions on rules, scoring, and movement will be provided at check-in, along with a brief overview before play begins. Light refreshments will be served.COST:
