All creatures and their human
friends are invited to Trinitarian Congregational Church’s Blessing of the
Animals to celebrate the special connection
between pets and their caregivers.
All pets should be managed on a
leash or in a cage or container. Children without pets are invited to
bring teddy bears or other stuffed animals for a blessing. Anyone who has
a sick or immobile pet or one that is deceased is welcome to bring a leash or
other memento to participate in a remembrance.
The event, which takes its
inspiration from Saint Francis of Assisi, the Patron of Animals, will take
place in front of the Pine Street entrance of the church. In case of
inclement weather, the blessing will be held under the portico of the East Main
Street entrance.
