President Ronald Reagan signed a resolution into law in 1984 proclaiming July as βNational Ice Cream Monthβ and the third Sunday in July as βNational Ice Cream Dayβ. He recognized ice cream as a fun and nutritious food.
Celebrate βNational Ice Cream Dayβ on Sunday, July 19, 2015. Not to be confused with βIce Cream For Breakfast Dayβ the first Saturday of February or βNational Ice Cream Sandwich Dayβ in August.

Sueβs Hot Fudge Sauce
Original recipe makes 1 quart
- 1 cup butter
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 cups white sugar
- 1 (12 fluid ounce) canevaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Combine butter, cocoa, sugar and evaporated milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and boil for 7 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Carefully pour hot mixture into a blender and blend for 2 to 4 minutes. Serve immediately. Store in refrigerator.
