3 Boston Teens Arrested After Norwood Home Invasion

The teenagers were accused of displaying a firearm, pistol-whipping a victim and stealing several items from a Norwood home this weekend.

NORWOOD, MA — Three teenagers from Boston are facing charges after an armed home invasion prompted a police search near railroad tracks and downtown Norwood, authorities said.

The teenagers, aged 15, 16 and 17, were accused of displaying a firearm, pistol-whipping a victim and stealing several items from a Chapel Street home shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday, Norwood police said. Each faces multiple charges including home invasion, robbery, conspiracy and possession of a firearm.

Two of the three teenagers were masked during the robbery, police said. One suspect was known to the victim.

Officers established a perimeter and searched the railroad tracks and Washington Street corridor after the suspects fled. Police arrested one person believed to be connected to the robbery near the Norwood Central train station.

Around the same time, a Norwood Police public safety aide monitoring traffic cameras spotted two people matching descriptions of the remaining suspects near Washington Street and Walnut Avenue, according to police.

The two fled toward Press Avenue and Washington Street when officers attempted to stop them, police said. Officers arrested both after a brief foot pursuit. No officers, suspects or members of the public were injured during the arrests.

A resident later alerted officers to a handgun and loaded magazine on the ground along the suspects’ route, police said. Officers recovered a Taurus G2C 9 mm handgun and a magazine containing nine rounds.

Police also recovered property believed to have been stolen during the robbery and a firearm laser attachment from a backpack associated with the suspects. The victim reported seeing a gun equipped with a green laser during the robbery, according to police.

K-9 teams from the Westwood, Foxborough and Sharon police departments assisted with searches for additional weapons.

“This was a fast-moving incident involving a report of an armed robbery and armed suspects fleeing through a populated area,” Norwood Police Chief Christopher Padden said. “Our officers quickly established a perimeter, used our available technology to locate the suspects, and safely took them into custody.”

The investigation remains ongoing and police may seek additional charges.
