Maura Healey signed a new law forcing the hospital's owner to secure a nonprofit operator by November 1 or face possible state takeover. After years of delays from flood damage and corporate turmoil, former staff, first responders, and neighbors are hopeful this deadline finally gets Norwood Hospital moving again.
   

• Man arrested on identity fraud charges in Norwood (newportdispatch.com) — A routine Route 1 traffic stop in Norwood for a missing front plate turned into an identity fraud arrest after officers uncovered multiple aliases and conflicting IDs. Norwood police, with help from federal agencies, ultimately identified the driver as a Dominican national and linked him to prior investigations before releasing him on $100 bail.
