NORWOOD, MA — The Norwood Police Department has added an experienced officer to its ranks.

Ross said he looks forward to becoming part of the community and meeting the people he will serve, the department said.

In 2011, Ross was listed among five newly appointed officers who had completed the Municipal Police Academy and Hingham's Field Training Program.

In 2020, a Hingham official praised Ross for his response to a 911 call that resulted in a child being saved from choking.

Norwood police encouraged residents who see Ross around town to introduce themselves and welcome him to the community.
