Norwood Police Welcome Veteran Officer Ryan Ross

The Norwood Police Department has added an experienced officer to its ranks.

NORWOOD, MA — The Norwood Police Department has added an experienced officer to its ranks.

Officer Ryan Ross joins the department after 16 years with the Hingham Police Department, Norwood police announced Wednesday. Town Clerk Mary Lou Folan recently swore him in and Ross will now begin Norwood’s Field Training Program.

Ross said he looks forward to becoming part of the community and meeting the people he will serve, the department said.

In 2011, Ross was listed among five newly appointed officers who had completed the Municipal Police Academy and Hingham’s Field Training Program.

In 2020, a Hingham official praised Ross for his response to a 911 call that resulted in a child being saved from choking.
